Things To Do

Córdoba

If your brain is feeling fried after a hectic time in Buenos Aires, then Cordoba could prove a handy halfway house.

Paragliding and Skydiving

There are two skydiving outfits in the province, one in Cordoba City, the other in Alta Gracia. While this activity costs upwards of P$400 it is cheaper than elsewhere. The operator based in Cordoba gives you free photos to remind you of the day so you can see just how scared you looked. It goes without saying that you dive in tandem, with an expert strapped to your back.
Both skydiving and paragliding require perfect wind conditions. As such you might need a bit of patience and have to wait around for days to get your chance to fly.

Climbing

At Los Gigantes there is world class climbing on the giant towering cliff formations. Cordoba Adventure, however, offer climbing at some excellent alternative sites. We went climbing with them around the town of Tanti. We were amazed as we managed to scale granite cliff faces with relatively little experience. This testifies to the skill of the guides. This tour can be combined with either trekking or night trekking.

Horse riding

We went riding with Campo Josefa who is thought of highly throughout Cordoba. Based in a rambling old farmhouse the horses were well schooled. The guide is chatty, fun, and bi-lingual. The BBQ was terrific. The service is really excellent and the rides are cheaper than those elsewhere in Argentina. They offer rides on their extensive lands, crossing rivers, or a hill excursion that cuts at times through a slightly odd residential zone.

Pompeya Polo Club

Paging Jilly Copper… Some call it posh hockey. In reality it is a very daring sport indeed. And since the currency is in your favour here you can actually afford to learn to whirl a big stick around while galloping like a mad thing. One off lessons with transfer cost P$150 but you will need more to get good enough to play properly. As you would expect from a polo club the grounds are awesome.
