Rosario is the largest city in the province of Santa Fe and the third largest in Argentina with just under three hours by car to Buenos Aires. Che Guevara was amongst some of its most famous residents. It has been transformed in recent years by the commercial success of soy, which Argentina is exporting in great quantities. A great deal of this investment has cleaned up the city and provided many new bars, restaurants and accommodation. The city has grown significantly in the last three years. Besides this, Rosario makes great use of its riverside location and there are beaches on the water which are very popular during most of the year and complete with the best looking girls in Argentina. Rosario is a very good place to eat fresh fish and is in the centre of the grassland home to the best beef in Argentina. The city where the Argentine flag was first raised is establishing itself as a destination for overseas tourism. Getting Sorted Rosario is a modern city and has most of the amenities that you would expect in Buenos Aires, but in many cases at a lower price. There are many cafes including El Cairo, a newly refurbished classic in the centre of Rosario. For those shop-aholics the main shopping centres are to the north of the centre, although there are plenty of places in the city. These are called Alto Rosario and Portal Rosario and here you can find a modern cinema complex too. These are the developments that have changed the face of Rosario in recent years.
